What?... Make Your Own Peanut Butter?! It is Delicious and So Incredibly Easy!
My friend Jan makes her very own peanut butter and I was shocked how easy it is to make! Now you need to realize it's not super smooth and creamy like a jar of Skippy – it's more coarse, but it is incredibly flavorful! There's only a handful of simple ingredients and it takes very little time to make, so let's take a look at how she creates this magical treat!...
INGREDIENTS: 2 cups of shelled fresh peanuts, ½ a teaspoon of salt, 2 tablespoons of peanut oil, 2 tablespoons of fresh honey,
INSTRUCTIONS: Roast those peanuts for a wonderful rich flavor. Place nuts on a baking sheet at 350 degrees for 10 minutes until they turn golden brown. Then place them in a food processor with blade while the nuts are warm. Pulse them several times till they are chopped. Process for another minute as it will look sort of dry and chunky – scrape the sides. Run the processor for another minute as it will now start clumping up – scrape the sides. Run it for one more minute – scrape the sides ‐ and it will now start looking like thick and shiny peanut butter!
Now it's time to add your honey, salt and oil to the top and process the blender for another minute and a half. And now it's time to taste to determine if you want to process it a bit more creamer. Plus, you can now add more honey or salt for the taste you know you'll enjoy.
Finally, it's time to enjoy this luscious treat with jam or jelly on toast, English muffins, fruit, or however you want to devour it! When done eating, place your peanut butter goodness in a storage container and you can keep it refrigerated for a few weeks! Now when we say ENJOY, we mean it!
